In the winter of 2007, I was trapping back in our woods, and thought about how it would be real easy if people would call me when they had raccoons around their house. Then I could come trap them and sell the fur and make a few bucks. That's how it all started. I began to look into it and found that you could not legally do that unless you requested an Animal Damage Control Permit from the MDNR. I decided to do it and called the Lansing office and requested the application papers. I received it within a week or two. I read the whole thing over and found that I needed a business name registered in the county. After several attempts at the right business name, Wegner Animal Control finally was registered in the St. Clair County Clerk's office. Shortly after that I spoke to MDNR Permit Specialist Jim Janson regarding my permit's status and he told me that it was approved. By now it was already Spring 2008. I put an ad up online on yellowpages.com and waited to see what would happen.
Wegner Animal Control: Founded 2008
| author: Kevin WegnerDefinitely the most memorable experience I've had so far was removing a raccoon from the Romeo Ford Engine Plant grounds for a business called Devin Industrial Groups. Though it took a few different techniques and I had a little trouble with security letting me bring anything into the fenced-in area, but I ended up getting him.
So to everyone out there who needs small animal removal in the St. Clair County area, please consider Wegner Animal Control. We tend to have lower prices then our competitors and always assure friendly service. Give us a call at 810-395-8530!
Thanks, and Happy Memorial Day!
